Ah I see thanks.
Another thing. The CDI unit on an ET3. Is it fitted to the engine case, like a PV or in the side tool box or somewhere else?
I only ask because my engine has little rubber bungs in the mounting plate holes that look as if they've been there forever.

On et3 it sits in the toolbox on LHS of frame

the rubber bungs are to hold the cdi on a none et3
scoots now back together, but i did get the gear cables the wrong way round, easy sorted and i think we all do this some times.

My et3 had little rubber blanking plugs in the holes where the coil bracket would have bolted onto the case on earlier models

this was my second go at fitting the gear cables having got them the wrong way round the first time only human
then tighten with a couple of small spanners
then adjust the cables to remove the slack etc. when finished i cut the excess off and fitted a couple of crimp on cycle cable ends (£1 per 100 ) to stop the cables unwinding, these can easily be pulled off with a pair of pliers if needed

I find a cable puller really useful for doing the gear cables. I often leave it on while I check the cables are the right way round :-) the alternative to the end caps is a little bit of solder which does the trick nicely on new clean cables

recently had a go on the PSL dyno at peters charity event
this is what i got
not bad for a 40 year old scoot. i found 0.5 bhp extra during the rebuild

not bad ,not bad at all , wondering on the dip after 7700 rpm , revs on nice afterwards ,torque curves matches almost too ,nice mount of torque to . will think ,but wondering if slight adjustment of tuned length will give a more rounded curve .shorter ,or spaced from barrel a tad to go longer .brains already heating up thinking on it ,but if ya wanna go long ive some exhaust packer plates , ya you could try . i think the pipe is about 35mm too long but next time i have some big work on the scoot i could raise the exhaust by a mm or so same effect

H henri mate, i just came back to this as i was checking my jetting. i dont really enjoy taking bits of my scoot only to put them back while i order the right parts im checking my choke jet but its not listed on my dyno chart re the dip in power output near 8000 RPM; im using a franz pipe and what ever carb i fitted i could not get rid of the dip it was always a little weak near peak power. i sorted this with a different needle X51 one of the dual taper ones that you dont get in the standard needle sets this made a massive difference

ive never had to use a dual taper needle yet ,thankfully , i find single tapers confusing enough .H

I found some software called carbconfig. It came from f1karts.co.uk, You can buy the software from dellorto / beedies etc. Or do a search for a free download, Both versions are the same.
I played with this little program for an hour or so, And the first needle I bought was the correct one,
A good program if you can read the graphs

with keihins an there copys oko/pwk's theres a jetting program at kyajet.de/?lang=en ,its very simple .but you stick in your needle codes 3 letters an say were your rich/lean ,an it spits out a code .trouble starts as its a very simple system ,just because it spits out a code doesnt mean anybody makes that needle .so you then have to search for the nearest example that is made an sold .H

Yes mate,
There's a lot to be said for dellorto and Amal If it's listed you can buy it,
I'll check out that link later in the week when I'm at work. downloads on an iPad can be difficult to save on a disk
The dellorto program just gives a graph showing how rich or week the carb will be after you put in your sizes, But you can compare four setups at the same time
