Evening lads, asking on behalf of my brother.
Story is he's a bought a Poley T5 that we've known all of the ownership since new. He's bought it last year after 20 years of badgering the last couple of owners to part with it. It's now a little tired and not running quite as well as we know it can. Pretty sure it needs a new set of rings but hopefully it's just that and not a hone and /or a new piston.
From memory they used a Suzuki TS 185 piston kit, can anyone confirm this and if not then what was the piston used? I know it was Suzuki of some description.
Cheers.

IIRC the MB web site has notes on this conversion. If not give the man a ring he's normally very helpful on the blower....

I'm just doing a Suzuki smallblock Lambretta engine and if this helps the std TS185 has a compression height of 32mm and is 64mm bore with a 16mm gudgeon pin. T5 little end is also 16mm (?) so you are probably right. Although I can recall people using Yamaha pistons as well but this could be the fumes playing tricks with me

Cheers lads. From memory the Yamaha conversion was the 178/180 kit and I think Kegra did something similar at the time. Could have been others but my memory is shit.
MBD also did a 190 but that needed casework, remember it being a Kawasaki piston and think it came from a Jetski or some sort of watercraft.
Anyway, between replies here and elsewhere I'm now 97.5% sure it was the TS piston in the 170.
Cheers.
