Hey Vespa Buds !
New to the forum - I've been dragging around a '65 Vespa 90 for 10 years (never started it) bought from a close friend (she ran it just up until I bought) now finally got apart and I'm rebulding the engine and painting it.
Question is . . what "unique tools" to the Vespa (I got all the other auto engine rebuild tools) should I buy ?! ex: Clutch compressor - Fly Wheel removal tools - Petcock wrench - etc. I have rebult a few VW engines and I know if you don't have the right tools . . you are just making the job much tougher.
Please advise as to what tools are unique to the Vespa small frame / '90 engine and where I can find these tools new.
Thanks in advance for any and all help . . .my experience in rebuilding VW engine(s) has been that the forums are a god send to quick and usefull info and a great companion to the manuals and the books (that I already have).
THX
Boo

fuel tap spanner .... not too hard to make one 32mm open ender spanner ( I think) clutch compressor tool ... you could use a threaded rod and socket flywheel removal tool depends on thread size or maybe it has a nut and circlip already fitted so you don't need one flywheel holding tool can be made from a oil filter strap otherwise like has been said before buy new

yep ,32mm open ,i ground out a pushbike spanner an welded it to a speedbrace .aswell as the above a clutch centre puller will be needed ,an can be adapted to compress the clutch in situ as there easier to build that way .H

welcome Boo, put this up in the normal projects page and keep us updated with progress, we like lots of piccies, and ask any question no matter how daft it may sound.

In my experience, a set of bearing pullers is a must if you're going down the engine rebuild route.....
