Well after having sold my last crosser in 1991 at the age of 12 I thought I`d scratch an itch and get another. Wanted something old school and when this came up on ebay I had to get it. Its a 1985 RM 250 F. In very good condition for the age and has lots of new parts. Not been out on it yet but theres afew of us going out on sunday for a beach ride so cant wait for that. Just got to try to not cripple myself lol.

So it seems H, thats what most of my mates have said. I`ve been saying I`d get another for years and turning 36 last week has made me realise if i dont get on with shit im gonna be too old. Its already hard for me to get my leg over (the bike) lol. Im deffo gonna thrash it but it`ll be well cared for. Its the most I`ve ever spent on myself in one go apart from my house.

Cheers Steve. Its really really clean. Almost a shame to take it out n get it dirty. Just need to repack the muffler as its very loud and its just had new tyres, chain n sprockets, shock rebuilt and the fork seals and oil done.

Very nice indeed and in great condition. I remember being helped up on one (short arse syndrome) at the bike show a good few years ago. They sound and go well. I was at Cadwell scooter racing and someone took one round the short circuit with race wheels on it, many had top end, carb and exhaust envy.

I took it out on the beach on monday in the pissing down rain with a mate who`s got a ktm. Its very fast and very unruley. Great fun. Its made me feel very old now as im aching all over! Hips, shoulders and forearms are killing me. Only fell off once trying to get up a high cliff when i ran out of talent and broke the front brake lever.

Was out on this again on sunday. Heres a pic of it looking alittle abused lol. We was at an old quarry that they do alot of 4x4 days in. Must have been another 200 bikes and quads there. Was a very challenging day and it didnt really suit my bike but still a very good day out.

A worthy member of the ridden not hidden club. I only wish I had the skill to ride one. I've always been keen on keeping the front wheel on the ground, impossible when ridden as they should be.

davet ,its not that hard to learn "rear wheel steering " , you just hold tight ,close ya eyes n pray a lot , needs a big soft field or beach an a certain degree of recklessness/insanity , but is fun . H

its about same size as my kz engine ,so it would fit in a ld frame , an if some loon can fit a husky 360 into a large frame a suzy250 would squeeze into a smallie i guess , before ya get excited it took him 4 frames 12000 euros n 10 years . H

Its probably down a few horses at the moment as it could really do with a top end rebuild. It looses compression when hot but it`ll wait til winter. Yeah it deffo wont be hidden,it was made for abusing and thats what it gets. Its so simple theres nothing really to break and even at the weekend when we saw afew newish ktm`s broke down this thing just plodded on. No its not the kind of bike you want to be learning on as the power is really on or off but i think a newer 125 with a powervalve would be fine as a first bike. Only thing im struggling with now is confidence. You can tell who the lads are that have done it all their lives they have so much self belief in jumping and riding up/over stuff its unbelievable. Thanks alot for all the interest in this old thing guys. Its really slowing my scooter build down but when you get an itch and all that lol.
