My primmy passed its MOT this morning, and is now road legal for the first time since 1991.
Here's how it was when I first got it in the late 80's (along with my sisters 100 sport):
Here's a couple of pictures from this morning:
It's great to be riding it at last. As it's been a while since I've ridden myself, I need to build up confidence a bit, plus the speedo doesn't work yet so I can't see how fast I'm going (ne drive arrived just now). The engine feels good, very revvy with a good pull at the top of the rev range. I need to get a rev counter as I don't know how much to rev it, I don't want to blow it up too soon. This is the one I put together in the 'Georges Engine Build' thread.
Next thing on the list is to fix the speedo drive, go out and have some fun on it and then look at replacing the front shock with something nicer.

Nice job George, I'm finding the paint a little too subtle for my liking but the world would be a right boring place if we all liked the same things.

just noticed where the stand is rubbing. i solved mine by removeing the chrome cover from the hub center nut and pushing the exhauset in till i had about 3 or 4 mm clearance between the exhaust and wheel.

Been out a few times over the weekend & had a bit of fun but still got some problems to sort out.
The clutch seems to be calming down a bit, every time I got home it would be dragging a little but I guess that's just a new cable stretching & the outer settling. Getting better with each adjustment. As someone else mentioned on here, the clutch (BGM superstrong) bites quite quickly, there's not much in terms of feeding it in and takes some getting used to. It hasn't slipped however, and is reasonable at the lever. I'll keep an eye out for an XL2 cover, using a PK long-arm cover at the moment.
As I've mentioned elsewhere, I've eaten up 2 speedo drives so far, I've only got one more left so need to look inside the front wheel. Not essential, but would be nice to know how fast it goes & for speed cameras etc.
Otherwise, it's great fun with lots of pull at the top of the rev range. It's running quite rich 1/2 throttle and below so have a BGM needle & jet set on the way. WOT is fine, so I think I can go up on the main (currently 90) and maybe up on the need (currently D24). I think I'll run out of knowledge on this quite quickly so will probably have some questions.
Cheers, George.

What idle jet are you running out of interest?

I've got 60 written down for choke/starter and also the numbers 200 and '50 next atomiser', so hopefully the idle is one of those.

Changed the needle from D24 to D29 and it's much improved now, the engine feels much more free to rev & smooth, still running a 90 on the main, but I'll try a larger one there.
Got a knocking on the front end now, so need to tighten up the fork bearings, get the speedo sorted (puller arriving today hopefully) and check out a slight rub on the rear tire sidewall. A few little problems, but getting there...
