You can do what you want to the motor really without welding anythinh, thats the problem with doing an ss, its got to be orig to keep its value, but as long as it can be put back to origional its good isnt it, even better is it will be on the road and used as should be :-) good luck with the build, I always thought NZ models had no frame nos and some had 4 fig no where toolbox under seat is?

Before and after shots of the headset. Found a pretty talented welder to fix up the original. Pretty stoked with the result.

youve got some talented guys down there , thats lovely work ,hard to find anybody with those sorts of skills in southern blighty , its all coming along nicely ,have ya thought about paint yet , H Yea I've been pretty lucky to have been recommended the guys I've used. The panel beater was saying he thinks he's the only one in the city left who can hammer and file that sort of stuff. yea it's going in the paint shop this week. i saw something on here about everyone's ss90 being that reddy orange colour so I think I'm going to go for the bleu pavone original colour. While stripping some pieces there was a rainbow of colours under the latest paint job and I think that blue might've been the original. There were definitely traces of it but it's hard to confirm having no frame number (NZ). the hardest decision this week will be whether I use factory style one coat paint or go the acrylic and clear coat way for a higher gloss. Quite like the idea of one paint and slightly less gloss. Any thoughts?

Got the scooter back from painting. F***cking stoked with the finish. Went with single coat 2k paint in blu pavone with the original formula from max meyer/ppg. Next few weeks comes assembly time. Getting pretty excited now.
