What are the best bits to buy for a dremel to remove material when porting. Went through loads of sanding drums and rubber mandrel

I like the balloon burr that's, off the top of my head, either part number 134 or 136, you'll know what I'm on about if you look at the stand in your local B&Q. It flies through them so use caution.

it will depends on what you are porting and the material, for cases i like to use the tile cutter on the inlet, finishing with a hand file, on case transfers, the last time i did it i experimented and used a cutting disc which is this and got this result for cast iron barrels i again use the tile cutter and finish with sanding drums for nicasil barrels i tend to just stick to sanding drums on the barrel face and the 134 for the rest again finishing off with a sanding drum the tile cutter will actually carve thru the case so if you have to enlarge the case transfers by 5-6mm it will do it to your mark (with a nice steady hand)

The burrs are good and cut well... not sure how strong the stems are, I've bent one before. But at £8 for a set they're practically disposable. You can obviously buy really high quality versions, I just can't afford 'em

Just been doing a bit of roughing out with this. About 5 quid for two from b&q No weld or skimming... That may change hence decided to stop... Which was the hardest part...

this worked for me to make sure I always knew the thickness of the area I was working on I put some painters blue tape around the base when the points of the tool were touching... then using a razor sliced it the gap I saw in the tape while checking the wall thickness was very accurate better than your fingers better than blowing threw worked for me

The Dremel 134 High Speed Cutter 7.2mm is the business, cheers Juan. I been messing around with sanding drums when this boy does it in no time. :-)
