Oh dont start tempting me with Imola kit Maxi lol (shhh how much?) The motor is going to need stripping an unsiezing at least and a good check over with new seals at least but in the future Id think the motor could be upgraded without ruining it and easy to put back to standard. I think this Ankor wax is just for bare metal going off the instructions Juan, I think normal paint wax is best for the paint to protect it?

Couple of pics now its home, really pleased with it, someone has paid attention to all the aluminium pieces as they have all been polished and not recently, even the steering lock flap is intact and polished, no keys though for that nor the toolbox door so Ill need to see if I can get those, there is a number on the toolbox lock but didnt see one earlier on the steering lock. No exhaust on it only a U bend, not too bothered by that as it was probably knackered anyway Drain and level plugs are missing so Im presuming its been kept indoors where its been stored to release the lubricants?? Just need to spend some time recommissioning it to make it roadworthy but wont be doing that soon, just glad I found one so origional :-) Really nice. Not everyones cup of tea, but always room in my garage for a smally or two and a series 1. Looks nice enough to ride as is. Jem Booth will be able to sort your locks and keys out. Mine and a friends.

liking that a lot Eean.... whats the deal then mate, when it gets too nippy to cruise about on the Smallie or Series 1 you jump in a soft top MG... It looks a nice project, There is a lot to be said for the reliability and economy of a cast iron stage 4 200cc lump, very useable performance too.. I know that would mean a different engine block and top end, but an awfull lot of the internals in this motor would be far superior to some of the new (off the shelf Indian dog shit spares) people are palmed off with lately.. ? Ive recently bought a series 3 LI 150, that's had mega reliability and very fair economy on the above mentioned set up....

Good news Col, the dating certificate or letter of authenticity from LCGB came back stating 1959 so it will only have to have the initial MOT to get it registered :-)

Jem booth just sorted keys for my LI series 3. Next day service and work a treat. Just email him a picture of the lock so he can see the number. Hes only in Preston. I have his email if you want it or go on ilambretta as Col says. I fancy a series 1 then I'll have the full set. Davet's look great in the flesh..

When I get round to it eventually i plan to upgrade the cylinder kit because I know how slow they are, i had one in the 90's and it struggled to do 50 and getting there meant setting off half an hour early lol great fun, I used to ride it to my lab I had in Warrington in the 90's on a Saturday morning, great it was :-)
