Ummm, thanks sugarlump....I guess.
Just trying to put another dead scoot on the road safely and didn't think asking for help would offend. Sorry for the inconvienence. Ive Been a viewer for a while now, just don't have much to contribute so I keep my mouth shut, better than those who contribute to much.
I attempted to get some of these tools made or obtained stateside around 1 year ago, but don't have original measurements to precisely costruct.
Thought if i were able to obtain these it would be a 2 day or so job to fix my frame then try and have a machinist friend fabricate a set for use here in the states if the cost was reasonable.
Once again. Sorry for the inconvienence

It's not an inconvenience, just an imposition to appear to join a forum without introduction and ask to borrow something. Plus I was in a rotton mood yesterday so I apologise for my curt tone.
Nothing needs measuring really, certainly not machining, the metal shaped dolly is a luxury not a necessity, the only thing you need is a pair of locking pliers and a small bit of bar and tube. Someone within 10 miles of where you live has a welder in the garage, it's just a case of asking around. I did a trip across the states on a Smallframe and got my exhaust welded by the local garbage removal truck workshop in Bryan OH. Gave him a 6-pack of beer and it was all good. And that's the arse end of nowhere....
Ben

I would'nt see there being a problem as long as you promise to remove the crashbars, mirrors, lights and whippy arials. Just trace the thread backwards and contact the last person that had them, you pay postage to get them too you. I think its about a £5 but like I say you'll have to remove the tat

It may be a good idea to message Ben (Sugarlump) and make sure it's okay with him as he kindly made the tools for the forum use. They do work very well too Mark.

lol !! all the chrome is off and staying off ! this is how I bought it a few months ago it had been in a shed for 14 years and with some clean fuel started first kick. this scooter was sold at a charity auction at String Fellows in the early 1980s to a tv presenter who sold it to his mate who used it until he became ill and then it sat in the shed until now.

Sugarlump would it be ok if I used them next once 2fastscoots has finished with them? I'm fairly new round here so don't mind paying a deposit through PayPal or something. Would only need them for a short time as there's only a small bit of damage where it looks like something's fallen on it whilst in storage.

I'm afraid as far as I can ascertain these tools have ceased to be. They are no more. They have vamoosed.
2fastscoots AKA Scott from Bentilee, Stoke On Trent was the last known recipient and for reasons unknown has not been seen since.
It was inevitably going to end like this, I hope one day he stumbles across them and stubs his toe.
Sorry fellas, on a positive they are pretty easy to make, it's just a matter of finding someone with a welder.

As Ben said unfortunately this would always have been the ultimate outcome, most of us are pretty trusting and are willing to help and donate to others but not everyone is quite as honest. Hopefully Scott may look in and suffer a pang of guilt but it's unlikely. Still, you never know, I like to think the better of people until it becomes quite obvious that they're actually just a Cunt with little or no redeeming qualities.

I prefer to give it the benefit of the doubt, maybe he's had some grief and the tools are low on his priority list. I've tried his personal email and PM's, we have his last known address but that's a bit dramatic. He's got enough scooters that someone will know him and maybe one day it'll jog his conscience and they'll be recirculated. Fingers crossed.

I'll see if I can get somebody to call at the address I gave you Ben and see if we can get to the bottom of the mystery. I do feel as though I should at least do this as it was me that sent them to Scott and do feel somewhat responsible. As the PM mentioned Ben, Scott was a regular user of the forum and had plenty of posts and seemed a worthwile recipient to take good care of the tools. Next Thursday I'm due at Charlie Edmonds workshop and will see if I can make a detour as I head south and give them a knock on the door. All is not lost yet, so let me see what I can do. Mark.

Nice thought Mark but as Ben has said there may be more serious issues at work so if it's likely to cost you a fiver or more to do so then just leave it alone. I'd hate to think the bloke was getting hassled over something really not that important if there was health issues or similar involved.
