the only thing for sure is that you need 5mm not 6mm jets... now, see what the previous owner has inside and decide...my opinion is to stay below 75 for 75-80cc, but you need to test it...

Whereabouts are you? I have plenty of jets kicking around.
Also proper 16/16 carbs. That 16/12 will just restrict it...

I just wanted to replace the broken carb that was on it when i got it and get it running. Carb upgrade among other things is deff on my list.

These are different carbs and will not be a straightforward fit on yours. The Automatic uses an FHBB carb, not a SHB like all other smallframes. The FHBB takes a 6mm mainjet, as standard it should be a 76 or 78. If yours does 75 kph it definitely is kitted. Pinasco recommended to keep the standard jetting, I'd upjet to something around 82 or so. If it runs now, and runs well, sell it while you get some money for it. They are not exactly bullet proof, and if they break spare parts are not that easy to get. Or try to get your hands on spare parts, possibly a spare engine in time if you want to keep it on the road for longer.

People just don't understand that the automaticas aren't the same. It's very mechanically sound. Probably just get it as daily-able as possible until it's time to sell it and upgrade. pulled apart my old carb. main jet is a 65

They are quite rare, so most people haven't had a chance to look at one. I used to work at a Vespa dealer in the 80ies, so I had to. I'm not a huge fan of these though. www.altevespa.de/rollertechnik/tabellen/pkauto/pk50xlauto.htmlThat's a sheet with some data at least. Check jet sizes there. Usually this source is accurate, so I'd take that as a starting point.

Sorry, I meant I was working there in the 90ies. They either had the 16/12 or the 16/14, depending on which market they went to. Jetting appears to have been the same for both.

SIP recommended main jet between 66 and 68 for my PK50XL2 with a 75cc kit. I have tried with 69, 70 and 75, but it runs better with the standard 65. So I will order 66 up to 68 the next time...

I feel like we should start a club or something. Going to get a new plug tomorrow too. I might as well replace the last thing that could've been destroyed when resurrecting this thing. Got this thing running after 12 years at least on that plug. Hard to tell what color it is/was anymore lol

It has a standard Sito exhaust, and an original 16/15 carb.

Are you sure you're talking about an Automatica? If so it shouldn't be a 16/15 carb. The geared XL II and the Automatica are two completely different engines, I don't think they have a single part in common.
