**************CORRECTION******************
For anyone reading this, once I had the clutch cover off I confirmed the clutch is 100% intact, I have had no issue with the circlip.
The primary nut had come loose and sheared the woodruff. Maybe I didn't torque it properly.
Meanwhile I took the chance to rebuild the clutch, removing the optional internal ring and replacing the spider with one that, while not Piaggio, worked well previously.
Have just gone for a 10 mile ride with new setup and I have hardly any drag and no obvious slip - clutch is MUCH lighter (when I showed the standard Newfren clutch to the guys at Scooterworks UK they were amazed how heavy it was) and, fingers crossed, will continue to work well.
Of course, the optional ring and slightly different spider may come into play at 'racing' hps.
Again, I will update as I go on - but I cannot confirm that there is any issue with the circlip. However, the circlip retaining slots on the Newfren 24 spring spider is at least 1mm shallower than a Piaggio one and in my opinion, the deeper the better.

Jimmy D, or anyone, Don't spose you have a spare spacer ring? I have put mine somewhere safe, and can't remember where, I get slip at 9,000 rpm and up.

I've got an unused one sitting in the garage so good chance that I have what you're after. Not forgotten about the other bit but just not a chance to sort it yet as something always crops up to scupper plans unfortunately.

Cheers Juan, but it would be a shame to split the clutch, it may be that you need the spacer in the future, and then you will be in the same boat as me. I was really hoping someone is happy with the clutch with no spacer, and had no intention of refitting it. Shaun. And no worries on the other thing, project is on hold at the mo :-)

I don't, sorry, but it wouldn't be too difficult to fabricate if Juan can give you the measurements...

Hi guys, Just fitted same clutch to a race motor ( Malossi MHR 132cc) expecting to do around the 20-24 bhp mark. Have fitted just the heavier 12 springs with the spacer, let you know how I get on soon too. PS. anyone know if any carbon plates fit this clutch...just in case...?

Update:
So spacer needs to come out, I had clutch drag.
Gone a put 4 or maybe 6 of the smaller springs in to compensate, equally spaced.
Was a bit difficult to get a good bite point but that was probably due to clutch slip on launch trying to compensate for the drag by over tightening the cable.
Further update soon...
