Cheers fellas ;D I've only been into scooters for a couple of years but got the bug real bad. I'm lucky cause a mate of my dads is a hotrod builder and I'm always hassling him about how to do stuff. Bought a welder 6 months back and I can't stop fiddling, like deseaming the back...ummmm i know I'll regret it if I don't but then I'll have to do the mudguard too etc. It's defo all about the rear lights... i spent AGES grafting a pair of early beetle lights onto me lammy but the paint job is gonna cost thousands so it's just sitting in the shed. I'm gonna finish this one on a budget of 400 quid if it kills me. Cheeky photo... that spacer for the et3 started out as a right dodgy piece of metal that I attacked with a hack saw. I ain't a clever fabricator by any standards! Filler primer and engine trannies are next...

Tickled the transfers but I'm gonna stick the original barrel back on to save on jetting issues cause it's gotta be finished & mot'd in 5 weeks. (Until i get my grubby mitts on adspeeds malossi ;D ). Hope it don't run worse now. I wasted a couple of evenings deseaming the back and the mudguard - pics to follow. Had my first go painting, tutored by an old pro. When i win the lottery i'll get him to build me a hotrod. When... Four coats of filler primer and a '33 rod. Next i'll finish putting the engine together and do the paint for real. Getting well excited ;D Ps. I know i need to finish off the trannies!!!

wow.....looking good. handy to have all those facilities at hand.....ill be over at around three ish ;D
wise words keeping it standard, im going polini over winter but for now it stays standard....my only performance mod is to go on a diet, im down to 15 stone with another stone to go which is cheaper that a zirri/parmaham kit.
if it makes you feel better i only built my brothers engine last thirsday and he needs to get some miles on it then dynoed.
look forward to seeing the de seaming pics

Bit of trouble with the paint reacting to cheap halfords primer but got there in the end. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm gloss.................. In the end me mate dave painted it cause i'd fuckin top myself if i had to pick up another piece of sandpaper in the immediate future. Thanks davey. Got me mitts on adspeeds malossi too (cheers adam ;D ). Sorely tempted to stick it right on... Hopefully next piccies will be it finished... that's jinxed it.

figured it was ebay Carrier dry fitted fine, and won it for about £40 (bullseye with postage) which i reckon was ok cause I'm 6ft 2" and don't get on too well with a spare wheel up against the leggies. Other bits donated so far from lambretta project - rear rack, tzr grips, egt gauge, stainless bolts

Really smart colour, not something I would have thought of myself for a rat resto, but I think it looks great. Looking forward to seeing it complete with the rear light fitted. Rob

you're right stewart ;D My best intentions of building a ratty run around have ended up a bit (loads) off the mark. Give it a year in my hands and it'll be a rat.

I reckon the best Rats are OP's - Other Peoples. Got to be quite dedicated to the ratty ethos to put up with it yourself! Also from my first experience with doing up a scoot its very hard not to get carried away with lavishing time/energy/brain-power & cash on 'em! How far off finishing are you?
